By making the switch to become a Fairtrade Supporting Workplace, you’re telling your team, your clients, customers and associates that you support an environmentally responsible and socially-just world. It's also a simple way to make a genuine impact.
So here's Kōkako's guide to making the switch.
Step One — Let your boss and colleagues know what Fairtrade is, and it's important.
Fairtrade helps people achieve financial security and obtain more power at the negotiating table, making them less vulnerable to poverty. The Fairtrade Premium enables farmers to invest in strengthening their businesses, improving their local communities and to plan for the future.
Fairtrade’s work is also about being fair to the planet too. We must recognise the climate crisis we face. Fairtrade supports farmers with strategies to enhance sustainable land management practices and they are also advocates for organic farming; today 52 percent of all Fairtrade producer organisations are certified organic.
Step Two — Hunt down two or more Fairtrade certified products and make the switch.
