A Chiapaneco natural-process Gesha, it has a silky tea-like body, notes of apricot, vanilla, and jasmine with a butterscotch aroma. It is delicate and sweet with juicy acidity. Grown between 1,400-1,650 MASL and dried for 26 days in African style drying beds.

The farmer, Luis Herrera, is a founding member of Sociedad de Producción Rural Unión de Ejidos y Comunidades San Fernando, or San Fernando for short — a cooperative of coffee farmers located across nine municipalities in the state of Chiapas. His farm is in Ocozocuautla (Oh-cos-so-kwalt-lah). In total, there are 50 communities that makeup San Fernando’s 974-strong membership, with each farm growing approximately 2.5 hectares of coffee.

Gesha is a coffee varietal originally from the Ethiopian woreda ‘Gesha’. It was brought to Central America in the mid-1950s but never really took off. Until 2004, a lot was entered into the 'Taste of Panama' competition that earned staggering reviews from the judges. From then on Gesha became known as one of the most complex and desirable varietals in the world. We hope you enjoy it!
