With the launch of Good Coconut at Kōkako the roastery team has been playing around with a cosy Hot Chocolate recipe just in time for Winter.

Kōkako certified Fairtrade Organic Drinking Chocolate is the perfect complement to your Kōkako Coffee offering. With only two ingredients, single-source cocoa and golden cane sugar, it will satisfy your sweet-toothed customers. 

We've create two Good Coconut x Kōkako Hot Chocolate recipes to enjoy at home or serve at your cafe. Try the recipes below and let us know what you think!

Enjoy at home

  • Add two 6.25g teaspoons of Drinking Chocolate to 10g of hot water and stir to create a paste.
  • Add heated Good Coconut and stir through; enjoy!
  • Kōkako Organic Drinking Chocolate is a treat to be enjoyed hot or cold; try it as a refreshing summer beverage over ice.

How to make the Chocolate Sauce

  • Weigh out 450g of Kōkako Drinking Chocolate and put it in a blender or large bowl.
  • Add 600ml of warm (not hot!) water to the dry mix.
  • If using a blender, carefully blend for around 1 minute. If using a bowl, whisk together until a smooth consistency is reached.
  • Place in a 1L squeezy bottle and store in the fridge until needed.


How to make a Hot Chocolate

  • Take the chocolate sauce out of the fridge at the start of the day and leave on the bench (not on the coffee machine) during service.
  • Add 50ml of chocolate sauce to 250ml of heated Good Coconut in a suitable mug. Garnish with sprinkled Chocolate Powder and serve.
